The South Luangwa
- Unique Zambian Safaris

The South Luangwa for you

Looking for an exceptional safari experience? Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park is perhaps the best known in that country. The South Luangwa is not the biggest park, but it is here that Zambian safaris first began. It is also here that the renowned walking safari was born. The Park is surprisingly diverse and offers wildlife enthusiasts an excellent selection of bush camps and lodges from which to explore…. Whether on foot, or on a game drive.

Zambia is still a surprisingly unknown destination for many Safari enthusiasts, and often allows for a more classic experience - one away from the busy and bustling areas that some areas have become. Such an area is the South Luangwa; it has also made its name as The Park in which to experience a walking safari – surely the best way to enjoy, and learn about, the bush, and wildlife. Here Guiding and safety are of exceptionally high standards.

Access

The South Luangwa National Park is easily accessed by scheduled flights from Lusaka, to Mfuwe, where the Lodges and Bush Camps meet their guests for the short transfer to the Park (generally 30 minutes or so, to the main gate). There is a good selection of Lodges both on the boundary of the South Luangwa, and within the Park itself.....you might also want to visit a variety of Lodges on your Zambian Safari in order to really get to explore this wonderful area.

More Zambia

The South Luangwa also combines with Kafue and the Lower Zambezi National Parks. You can also start of finish your arrangements in Livingstone, in order to take in the Victoria Falls.

Zambia safaris

South Luangwa may be the highlight of your Zambia Safari, but it also combines well with a Safari to the Lower Zambezi National Park or the vast Kafue National Park; with Livingstone making an excellent addition too. Zambia has much to delight the Safari enthusiast, and there are some good connections between the main Safari areas, allowing for the chance to see and experience much in your Holiday time.
