Puku Ridge Camp - closed for refurbishmentPuku Ridge Camp is built on a hillside, providing excellent views of the floodplain and the wildlife that frequents it.
Puku Ridge is a small and intimate camp, with only 7 tents. Accommodation is spacious, with a sitting area, en suite facilities that include an outdoor shower, and a private deck where you can enjoy the surrounding views, and view the wildlife. The tents are also equipped with a ceiling fan. This is a game rich area, and you are likely to see elephant, lion, wild dog, buffalo, numerous antelope species, and the endemic Thornicroft’s giraffe and Cookson’s wildebeest. The area is also known for its leopard sightings. Activities at Puku Ridge Camp include early morning and later afternoon/ evening game drives, which allow you to explore the area, and learn much about the local wildlife and environment. The vehicles are open, and thus allow for excellent photographic opportunities. Lions and leopards are often seen in the area around the camp, as are buffalo and elephant. In addition, there are guided Walking Safaris, which is the best way to really get to know the bush, and appreciate its diversity Afternoons are spent relaxing in the camp's large living area in between game activities. Listen out for the Puku antelope whistling to one other when there is danger in the air. When evening arrives, make your way to the central dining area for a delectable gourmet meal in the bush, or order dinner on your own private deck for a romantic night under the stars.
Regrettably the Puku Ridge does not take children of under 12 years of age. |
