The seasonal changes in the South Luangwa are very distinct - the dry months generally begin in April and continue into October (which is lays claim to being the hottest month).
The wildlife concentrations are at their best in October, as the animals congregate at water sources. Visitors enjoy sunny days and chilly nights during May to August.
Rains generally begin in November, with the rainy season continuing to March, which is also the best time to see the migratory birds. The Lodges stay open as long as possible, but there are some closures due to accessibility.
